My New iPhone

Close but...

...no cigar. Apple's tried to make it even easier to spend money at iTMS, by putting a spiff "iTunes" interface right on the iPhone. I tried it this morning, tried to buy a single... but instead of melodious delight I got an error message:

Unable to Download Song

This item will be available for download when you log in to the iTunes Store on your computer.

What's up with that? I Googled it and found NO help, NO links to anyone who's seen this message. Doh!

YouTube no-Fun

Kyle told me why, I think, I can see this from anywhere in the world connected to the net, except my iPhone.

Grr. I'm starting to care about YouTube but I can't watch every video I'd like to. Not good at all.

Wi-fi sync

I want to sync by wi-fi or bluetooth, is that too much to ask?

Quit it!

I've started calling my iPhone "Precious". I assure you, Gollum was no less concerned about wearing a thing (or at least knowing it is close) than I've been the last few days.

I need to stop it because now he's in my head and he is not a nice character to have in your head.

I wonder if Smeagol was concerned about a two-year commitment or vendor lock-in? Surely he had to question getting too close to the EDGE.

Disk?

I still think "Answer A Question" was one of my best early ideas, not because it makes great sense but because it was interesting and original.

So here's a question the random visitor might know and actually email me about (two-way web, who knew? ha). A friend asked me about the disk in the iPhone. I got as far as Apple's Spec Sheet which indicates it is a flash drive. So that answers the question at hand, but the follow-up is: any specs on the drive? I wonder who makes it and what it would look like if stand-alone.
